Today Star Trek: Equilism started preparing the application for Starfleet Academy in conjunction with the Starfleet Command Creative Desk. Players will become cadets on the Academy and they’ll serve an eighth month period at the Academy, considered they will get promoted every two months. It is possible for cadets to get demoted during their presence at Starfleet Academy. Information is subject to change and more information will be generated soon.
The application period has been closed and a new XO has been selected. Flexion has assumed the position of Executive Officer aboard the USS Equilism, leaving the FCO position vacant.
The Executive Officer is the second in command and must maintain a high standard of excellence. The Executive Officer is selected by the Fleet Admiral and the Captain. They are mentors for the crew and support for the Captain. They provide a solid base and help instill a solid front for the command staff. Many times the Captain will need to rely heavily on the Executive Officer and a relationship of trust and respect between the two is paramount.
For more information on the XO position you can take a look at the ST:EQ wiki.
Applications with a good motivation are to be send to the Game Manager by PM.
The USS Solstice is in need of a Ship Manager. Send your application to info [@] startrekequilism.com with your motivation and your experience in Star Trek rpgs.
Applications must be in before May 3, 2009.
Game Management decided, in concurrence with players, to open up Star Trek: Equilism to the general public. Kemaris Station will move to the public forums as the first game. First their archives will be posted on the public forums. The USS Equilism will start it’s fifth mission for the public. The USS Solstice is already open and the USS Bellevue will open in the near future.
As of mission 5 Chaucerin will be the Ship Manager of the USS Equilism. Tarlisea decided to step down as SM so he can put more attention to Game Management. Welcome to Chaucerin!
Crew evaluations are coming up for Kemaris Station and the USS Equilism are coming up.
From the CPEG:
In Star Trek: Equilism a character will be evaluated no more than six months after their initial posting to a given ship. All subsequent evaluations will be performed at intervals of no more than four months. At all times, the Ship Manager retains the right to call for an evaluation to be performed on a given character prior to the maximum timeframes as stated above.
The initial timeframe, six months, begins on the date that the character is assigned to a vessel. The characters’ first evaluation must be performed prior to the conclusion of six months assigned to the same vessel. Once an evaluation is performed, regardless of the outcome, the character then moves into subsequent evaluation periods. The second evaluation, and all subsequent evaluations, performed on the character while assigned to the same ship must be performed at intervals that will not exceed four months from the date of the last evaluation.
Soon the position of Ship Manager (SM) for the USS Equilism will open up. If you think you’re up to it send an application and motivation to Tarlisea or to info [at] startrekequilism.com.
SMs are hosts responsible for Game operation. Their responsibilities include providing game materials, managing the game environment, and maintaining game quality and player satisfaction.
- Game Materials - Before each mission begins, a SM will provide a player with mission orders which detail the objectives of the mission. The SM may also provide additional information to players whose characters will have important roles during the mission.
- Game Environment - During each Game session, a SM will communicate information about events that are taking place. When characters react to these events, the SM will then communicate the result of character actions to the players.
- Game Quality - During each Game session, a SM will prevent visitors from disrupting the mission. The SM will also monitor the Game session for Terms of Use violations and take action to prevent future violations.
- Player Satisfaction - At all times, a SM will provide an open forum through which players may ask questions, make comments, and submit suggestions. The SM will respond to all such correspondence.
- Promotions and Demotions - After a specific time, to be decided by the SM, he will evaluate the players and characters. The Game Manager has the final decision on any promotion and demotion (including field promotions) of characters.
As of today the universe of Star Trek: Equilism expands beyond the borders of Equilism and onto the internet. The public forum can be reached here. Don’t worry, the USS Equilism (full) and Kemaris Station (partly) are limited to NS Equilism nations. The USS Solstice will be the first ‘public’ ship.
